Professor David Lindenmayer

Professor David Lindenmayer AO FAA David Lindenmayer is Distinguished Professor of Ecology and Conservation Biology at the Australian National University's Fenner School of Environment and Society. His research focuses on the adoption of nature conservation practices on farmland, new approaches to improve biodiversity conservation in plantations, and better fire management practices in Australia. He has published 925 peer-reviewed scientific papers and 49 books, and in was ranked by The Australian newspaper as Australia’s leading conservation and biodiversity expert.

Lisette Mill

Lisette Mill is a landcare legend from Panmure, head of Biodiversity Innovation AU and inventor of the Bandicoot Motel, among many other practical innovations to improve wildlife habitat on farms and rural public lands. With qualifications in education and sustainability, Lisette is an expert in pest animal detection, monitoring and control, and is also a sworn enemy and skilled destroyer of weeds.

Andrew Matheson

Andrew Matheson is Regional Manager, Green Triangle Region for PF Olsen Australia, Australia’s largest independent forestry services provider. Andrew is a forester with extensive operational experience including plantation design, establishment and management, forest harvesting and haulage, and plantation fire management.

Roger Edwards

Roger Edwards, Cavendish legend, was deservedly crowned Citizen of the Year for Southern Grampians Shire in 2024. Roger was appointed Forests Commission overseer at Woohlpooer in 1975, managing the largest non-riparian red gum forest in the world for the next 35 years. He has an unmatched knowledge of red gum physiology and silviculture. Roger and family moved to Cavendish in 1978 and he finally retired from VicForests work in 2018, to continue his wonderful work as an artist (especially of native birds) and President of the Cavendish Townscape Committee, among many other community contributions

Andrew Skeoch

Andrew Skeoch is an acoustic ecologist, wildlife sound recordist, author, presenter and workshop facilitator, with 30 years of field recording experience around the globe. He is a champion for deep listening to nature, not only to open our ears to the natural environment, but to learn from how nature achieves sustainability through the ways creatures communicate, set out in his latest book ‘Deep Listening to Nature’.
